Big Band Concert and Dance Autumn Series

Premier Swing Band at the Music Hall Summer Concert SeriesThe School Street Bistro and the Premier Swing Band are proud to announce that the Big Band and Dance Concert Series has been a huge success and will continue thru the rest of the year. The shows feature the outstanding 8-piece Big Band/Swing Ensemble, the Premier Swing Band, led by David Neill of WSC. Dance lessons are provided by Jo Sarnelli and Jeff Landers of Small Planet Dancers. There will be a wide repertoire of jazz and swing music for dancing or listening. The concerts will be held in the School Street Bistro’s Music Hall on the 3rd Thursday of each Big Band Dance and Concert at School St Bistromonth, Sept 17, Oct 15, and Nov 19. The tables will be set around the perimeter of the Music Hall to provide a beautiful wooden dance floor for those that wish to dance.  The doors open at 6:00 and the free dance lesson will be provided from 6:30 to 7:00. Then Premier Swing will play from 7:00 until 9:00.  You’ll be able to order fine food and beverages from the Bistro menu all night.  The cost for these wonderful evenings is a mere $10 so put on your dancing shoes and join us at the Bistro this autumn. The show will be held on October 17 at 7:00PM with dinner and drinks available before the show and during the show. Doors open at 6:00PM. Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

The Sixth Annual WESTFIELD COLONIAL HARVEST DAY will take place on Saturday, September 26th in downtown Westfield on the North side of Court Street From the Athenaeum up to Lydia’s Gathering Place at 51 Court Street, Westfield. (Rain date: September 27th).
There will be arts and crafts dealers, live demonstrations by a variety of colonial craftspeople located at Lydia’s Gathering Place, colonial games and crafts for kids, a booth with information about the third annual Scarecrow Contest, Colonial Harvest Day returns on Sept 26a Revolutionary War encampment with colonial re-enactors, horse-drawn haywagon rides, pony rides for the kids, a Food Court featuring delicious food, home-baked pies, apple cider, hot dogs and hamburgers, hot soups, ice cream, Italian ice and more!
Back by popular demand, the Berkshire Brewing Company Beer Garden will be open for business across from the Performance Stage, where BBC will be pouring some of their delicious microbrews, including a Westfield Colonial Harvest Day brew that is sure to please!
