Main St/Broad St Project Update for the week 5/24/10
2. Meadow Street and Main Street will have a detour during the daytime hours all week. It will reopen in the evening to two way traffic.
3. The Gas and Electric company may also be doing work in the area of the Getty Station on Elm Street based on the progress in other areas.
4. The removal of the Main St. Railroad bridge has been moved back to late July or early August.
5. The Chief and the Mayor’s office have made the decision on the Memorial Day Parade route. It will travel south on North Elm onto Elm Street. It will then turn onto Court Street and then south onto Holland Avenue. There will be no parking on Holland Avenue the day of the parade.
6. Lastly, with the help of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the lights at Meadow Street and Union Avenue (formerly the Elm St. spur) will be placed permanently on flashing. You may remember that these lights were flashing before the new bridge opened, when the intersection was at the old bridge.
Have a great week.
