Bob Andras, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament

GOLF BALL Noble VNA and Hospice, located in Westfield, will be hosting the Bob Andras, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament on September 13th, at the East Mountain Country Club.  Some of the proceeds will help fund our hospice programs, including the children’s bereavement program.  Even if you are not a golfer, we have several sponsorship and donation opportunities for you to show your support!  You would be helping the Andras family, our Hospice programs, and other families in the area.

Shotgun starts at 12:00p.m with a four person scramble format.  We welcome Foursomes and Singles of all abilities.

The $125.00 per participant fee includes greens fees, cart, lunch and dinner.  Pre-registration is required and payment must be received by Monday, September 6th.  Teddy Bear Pools and Spas also has an exciting Hole-in-One prize of a $3500 pool or spa package.  Raffles and other prizes will also be awarded.

Eagle – $600

One foursome, 2 golf carts, greens fee, lunch, dinner, tees sponsorship, cart sponsorship and recognition in the program.

Birdie – $300

Two players, golf cart, greens fee, lunch, dinner, tees sponsorship, cart sponsorship and recognition in the program.

Par – $175

One player, golf cart, greens fee, lunch, dinner, tees sponsorship, cart sponsorship and recognition in the program.

Tee/Hole Sponsor – $100

Company or individual name displayed at tee/hole as sponsor.

Cart Sponsor – $50

Company or individual name displayed on cart as sponsor.

Dinner Only – $30

The Black Squirrel Ball

It’s a mystery and we cannot give away all of the clues, but we can give you the date of The Black Squirrel Ball at Stanley Park.  It is Friday, August 27 at 6 p.m.   Based on the novel of the same name and written by board member Amy Liptak Caruso, the annual gala will take its inspiration from the story line.  Be in the know, read the book and be prepared for an evening of great food, music and friends.  This is the Park’s annual major fund-raising gala.

Changes in Latitude returns August 19th

Changes_in_LatitudeWestfield on Weekends and the Westfield BID are happy to announce the return of Changes in Latitude to the Summer Sounds Concert Series on Aug 19, 2010 at 7:30 pm. Their show was the event of the 2009 summer and you don’t want to miss the fun this year.

Location is  set for the Church Street Commons due to Road Construction around the Green this summer. Please stay tuned for more details as they become available. Show is FREE and open to all!

2010 Westfield International Air Show

The 2010 Westfield International Air Show will be held August 21 & 22, 2010, in conjunction with the 104th Fighter Wing’s Open House at  Barnes Air National Guard Base.

Admission is FREE, a donation for parking will be requested, gates open at 8 a.m.

ELIGIBILITY: Our Vision is open to all young artists, national and international, working in any media. All forms of art are eligible. Entrants must be between 12 and 18 years of age to apply.

36″ maximum for wall hung work, 24″ base, 36″ height for free standing sculpture. The Theme is open to interpretation. Fantasy locations are acceptable.

Summer Activities at the Westfield Athenaeum

library logoBring the kids to the library this summer for a lot of fun activities, stories, crafts and movies!  Here are just some of the great programs offered in July:

Wednesday, July 7th -Think green!!  “Recycle a carton into a wallet”
Join other students entering grades 6-12 for this exciting recycle craft. We will be turning a carton into a wallet. All materials are supplied by the library. Registration is required and space is limited.

Thursday, July 8th

Take a Tromp through the Swamp: And a break by the Lake

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

A family program featuring the very talented Tom Sieling. Humorous, very participatory (sometimes even a bit athletic!) songs that engage the whole family. Registration is required.

TEEN GAME TIME

3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Students entering grades 6-12 are invited to drop in to the library to meet with friends and play games. There will be ROCK BAND, GUITAR HERO, DDR, Wii and various board games available. For more information contact Patti or Dan in the B&G.

Friday, July 9th – “Chalk Turtles”

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Young artists will get a chance to create their own chalk drawings with guest artist Terry Rooney. Come let your creativity flow. Ages 5-7 years. Registration is required

Monday, July 12th -Family Movie ‘Finding Nemo’ 2003

A father-son underwater adventure about a clown fish and his son Nemo, who is stolen from his home in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, and taken to a fish tank in a dentist’s office in Sydney. Nemo’s timid father and a blue tang fish named Dory with short-term memory loss must follow the East Australian current in order to get to Sydney and take Nemo home. Rated G. Running time: 100 min.
