First Thursdays @ the Athenaeum

library logoLang Auditorium, Westfield Athenaeum, 6 Elm St

On June 3, musician and educator John Root, of Amherst, will be presenting a program entitled “Music for the Gaslight Era (1890 – 1920),” which features a delightful repertoire of instrumental and vocal musical styles from the turn of the previous century.

Everyone will be invited to sing along and to share in the celebration of these nostalgic songs. Good music and good food, reasonably priced in a nice setting. Andy Bonacci, Chair of the WSC Music Dept., and Pamela Leigh, owner of Lydia’s Gathering Place, have combined forces with the Athenaeum to present this lunchtime music series on the first Thursday of the month at 12 noon.

Pamela is offering salads, sandwiches (Ham, Turkey, Chicken Salad) in box lunches, with a cookie, pickle and chips, and delectable desserts for $8 – $10. Bottled water will also be available. People can also bring their own brown bag lunches.
