The excitement of the Kentucky Derby rang through the city of Westfield this past Saturday Evening during the Downtown Restaurant and Pub Tour. Over 120 guests  were in attendance, participants experienced the fun of the Kentucky Derby with gaily decorated hats, a horse racing themed game and appetizers along the way.  Thank you to the Maple Leaf Inn for providing the early registration kick-off party with a free appetizer buffet and music by “Flashback”.    A total of ten local bars and restaurants participated in the event; making sure Westfield had everything from mint juleps, to derby-style cuisine, horse race games, festive hats, outfits, and even live music!

Adding to the ambiance of the night, guests were able to enjoy the musical styling of fiddler Sarah Michel outside of the Church Street Commons where her music captivated all who walked by and set the mood for the entire evening. Also at the Church Street Commons, Blue Star Equiculture offered complementary horse drawn carriage rides to participants and town citizens alike. The Grape Crusher offered craft beer tasting and Mina’s Wine and Spirits provided a wine tasting event. All locations offered participants free food, entertainment, and games in hopes to bring everyone in the community together for a night of Kentucky Derby style fun.

Thank you to our volunteers and participants who helped make the night special. With some great prizes, food, entertainment, and gorgeous weather, we hope that everyone had the opportunity to enjoy the evening.
