This Thursday May 2, the WSU Arno Maris Campus Gallery will be hosting the annual Student Art Show. The reception will be from 5:30 – 8:00 with live music and refreshments. There will also be an award ceremony and some art work for sale. Click on the picture for more details.

3rd Annual Kentucky Derby Restaurant & Pub Tour – Raffle Winners

This past Saturday’s Kentucky Derby Downtown Restaurant & Pub Tour was a great success! Over 150 people came down to enjoy some great music, food, and fun! We’d like to thank Jay Pagluica for providing the sound and stage equipment, along with his DJ services to give our registration party an authentic Kentucky Derby atmosphere. Also thank you to: the Westfield State University Faculty Band, for the wonderful outdoor concert, all the volunteers from Westfield on Weekends, TD Bank, Westfield State University and the City of Westfield, who came out to help with the festivities at each tour spot, the Westfield River Brewing Company, the Holyoke Caledonian Bagpipe Band and Mina’s Wine & Spirits (for hosting the registration party).

Westfield Athenaeum Annual Booksale

Every year the Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum organize and run a three-day booksale in April and a one-day mini sale during Colonial Harvest Day, raising money for library services. This years sale will go from Thursday, April 11th to Saturday, April 13th. Thousands of books will be available at the sale with prices starting at 50 cents for paperbacks and $1.00 for hard covers. There will also be a special section of specially priced vintage, unusual, antique, and coffee table books as well as sets and other ephemera.

Noble Hospital to Hold Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Care Consultations

WESTFIELD, MA–Noble Hospital and Gary E. Russolillo, MD, will host a morning of cosmetic surgery consultations and a clinical skin care workshop on Saturday, April 20^th, 2013 from 9:00 am to 12 noon. Dr. Russolillo is a Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon and a Clinical Skin Care Expert.

The cosmetic plastic surgery consultations are scheduled, private, personal meetings with Dr. Russolillo. Dr. Russolillo specializes in cosmetic facial surgery, body contour surgery, power liposuction, post-bariatric surgery body contouring, liposuction, breast augmentation, Botox, and chemical peels. Noble Hospital’s 5K Run & Walk for a Noble Cause

Registration is now open!

Noble Hospital’s 29^th Annual 5k Run & Walk for a Noble Cause will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts. The race begins at 9:00 a.m., with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. near the Children’s Pavilion.

The 5k run is a competitive road race for all levels of runners—from the novice to the serious athlete. The 3.1-mile course is flat out and back through Stanley Park and the surrounding residential area. A non-competitive walk—great for families!—follows the same route as the road race. Individuals, teams, wheelchair racers, and school groups are all encouraged to participate. After the race, refreshments, activities, and vendor tables will be located near the finish line, and awards will be given out. Gather your friends and family and join us for a fun and healthy morning at Stanley Park!

Early registration is encouraged. The registration fee for ages 13-59 is $30 before April 12 (Seniors 60+ are $20). The registration fee for ages 13-59 is $35 from April 13-27 (Seniors 60 + are $25). Children under the age of 12 participate free when accompanied by a paying adult. T-shirts and sizes are available to registrants on a first-come, first-served basis while inventory is available.

Push Yourself against some of the Top Runners! Run it or walk it on March 30, 2013, at 1:00 pm. $25,000 in Cash Prize Awards!

No better place than at the Annual Run Westfield’s Flat Fast 5K Run and 5K Walk in the Whip City. Serious to novice, individual or teams, all are welcome. Come watch or sample what Westfield has to offer. This year’s Run Westfield’s 5k Walk will benefit the Officer Jose Torres Memorial Fund.

If you’re not running come out and cheer them on! Downtown Westfield will be out supporting the runners and walkers. Come join the festivities. We’ll have music, food and beer beginning at 11 am! Elm Street will be closed at 9:00 am til 4 pm from the Franklin Street intersection to School Street for the race and celebration.
